|It was a big game for Anaheim goalie Jonathan Bernier on Friday. In his last start, he gave up eight goals to Calgary, but he had 22 saves and withstood a frantic final attack after San Jose pulled its goalie with 2 minutes left in a 3-2 win over the Sharks.
Analysis: Bernier has been sharp at home, going 3-0-1 with a 1.66 goals-against average in five games there.

|Lindholm got his first goal of the season with 5:38 remaining Friday, helping the Anaheim Ducks beat the San Jose Sharks 3-2 after blowing a two-goal lead.
Analysis: The 22-year-old Lindholm held out this season before signing a six-year contract extension in late October. He didn't play his first game until Nov. 9 and got his first goal in 15 contests.

|Darling was going for his second straight shutout while subbing for injured starter Corey Crawford, but he had to settle for a season-high 36 stops in another solid performance in Friday's 1-0 overtime loss to the Rangers.
Analysis: He has a 5-2-2 record with a 2.23 goals-against-average and a .926 save percentage in 11 games. He'll continue to see action while Corey Crawford is out.

|Raanta made 26 saves against his former team, and the Rangers blanked the Blackhawks 1-0 on Friday. Raanta made his NHL debut with Chicago in 2013 and was teammates with Darling for one season before he was traded to New York.
Analysis: He improved to 15-0-3 in 20 career appearances at the United Center. The 27-year-old Raanta had 17 saves in Thursday's 2-1 victory at Winnipeg, and Vigneault opted to give him a second straight start because of his recent play and his success in Chicago.

|Lundqvist will not start for a second straight night when the Rangers visit Chicago on Friday.
Analysis: Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said that backup Antti Raanta is playing better than the 2012 Vezina Trophy winner when explaining his decision. Lundqvist owns a shaky 3.28 goals-against average over his last six starts, while Raanta has yielded two goals or less in each of his past seven.

|The Arizona Coyotes acquired Holland from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday in exchange for a 2018 conditional draft choice.
Analysis: Holland, 25, had an assist in eight games with Toronto this season and registered 70 points (30 goals, 40 assists) in 203 career NHL games with the Maple Leafs and Anaheim Ducks. The Toronto native totaled a career-high 27 points (nine goals, 18 assists) in 65 games with the Maple Leafs in 2015-16 and scored a career-best 11 goals with Toronto in 2014-15.

|Clutterbuck and the New York Islanders have agreed to a five-year contract extension through the 2022-23 season.
Analysis: Clutterbuck has two goals and seven assists in 25 games this season. The alternate captain is in his fourth season with the team. He finished with 15 goals with eight assists in 77 games last season.

|Domi has been placed on IR after leaving in the third period of Thursday's game against Los Angeles.
Analysis: The forward netted Arizona's only goal of the game before exiting due to the ever-mysterious upper-body injury. The youngster has 15 points in 25 games.

|The Dallas Stars activated forward Jiri Hudler from injured reserve Friday after he missed 23 games due to an undisclosed illness.
Analysis: Hudler, 32, has not recorded a point in four games this season. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound native of Olomouc, Czech Republic, was signed by Dallas as a free agent on Aug. 24.

|Ryan scored twice and the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Los Angeles Kings 3-1 on Thursday night.
Analysis: Ryan had his first multigoal performance in 20 NHL games. A fixture in the lineup since being called up from the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL on Nov. 11, Ryan has six points in the last seven games.
